Change…is it always a good thing???

Change is good, right?

So some people may or may not know that not only am I a huge fan of Rob Pattinson but I have also been a fan of American Idol David Cook since the first time I saw him on American Idol, in fact he is the reason I have met some of the most amazing friends I have ever had and probably will ever know, so this note is mainly about him and why people feel the need to be what they are not…read on:

Most of the time I believe that change is a good thing, but not when it comes at the expense of losing your own identity.  My experience was giving mine away to my husband, but that is not what I am here to talk about today.  I don’t understand these people who think that when they like someone or admire them, they have to change everything about themselves to be like their “Idol”.

DON’T EAT ME OR DAVID COOK WILL HATE YOU TOO!!!!!

I understand that imitation is the best form of flattery, but c’mon guys?  I swear the stocks in French’s have plummeted because no fan of David Cook can dare eat MUSTARD, what a crime if we do or God forbid even like it.  Shoot me now, I love mustard ~ honey, hot, you name it, mustard rocks.  Who the hell can eat a decent sandwich without it?

Then there is the word nerd thing.  Okay, I am down with being smart, I feel that I have always been fairly articulate and witty in my life, even after 3 brain surgeries, BUT I am not going to get out my pocket thesaurus just to try and find the most preposterous word I can think of so I sound like I might have a brain!  I swear if I hear one more person use the word trite or plethora (two words David used on idol a few times) out of context or just to TRY and sound intelligent, I swear I will jump from a cliff !!! It might help if they actually know what the word means before they use it in a sentence.

I have also noticed that David Cook clearly likes to do word search books

David doing the Times crossword while waiting for rehearsal at American Idol

and I have also heard that he does the New York Times crossword, but its more work than his brain wants to deal with.  I would love to see one of these little fangirlies try to pick the Times crossword up and take a crack at it.  I can hear it now… “What are these cute little squares for??”  Nan banging her head into a wall

My point, as if I ever really have one, is that why be something you are not?  If you are clearly a bimbo, embrace it.  If you are a half witted smart ass like myself, embrace that too, just embrace who you are and don’t try to be anyone else.  I mean, do any of you really believe that because you do all these things, David Cook is going to be stopped dead in his tracks and say “god, I love this person, they are just like me”.  I think not, I don’t think he is that self-absorbed.  Why would anyone want to love someone just like themselves?

I better stop crying or someone might think I’m a pussy

Personally I think that variety is the spice of life and without differences in our lives, we all just become a bunch of robots.  And speaking of robots………

Why is it that the general population of the male species are complete fucking idiots? I have heard from many people (all men of course) that David Cook is a, I hate saying it, a pussy. Of course I totally disagree with this statement and have asked why they would even think something so ridiculous. Each time I heard that, it is because he openly shows emotion and cries etc.

My first reaction is to say ~ “what the fuck”?  What is wrong with a man (any man for that matter) showing emotion? Do we live in a world where we want our companions to be ROBOTS, with no feelings or compassion? Of course not, but most men just don’t get it.

Personally I think that a man who can share his emotions with the world is much more of a man than some pussy that has to hide behind some tough exterior so that people don’t think he is weak, but what do I know? Most of the women I have talked to and known in my life agree with this. I mean we don’t want some blubbering cry baby, but at the same time some emotions are good and I would much rather share my life with a real human than a robot any day.

So there you have it, don’t be anyone but yourself.  If you can’t love yourself, what makes you think anyone else would want to love you?  As far as emotions are concerned, I am just so tired of everyone in this world being so abrasive and uncaring.  There is nothing wrong with showing your emotions whether you are a man or a woman, so guys don’t be afraid to actually “feel” something and express what you feel, I promise it won’t kill you and there isn’t a woman on the planet with half a brain that will fault you for it.

Peace, Love and Happiness to you and your’s ~ Nans
